Chair of the Board of Trustees
The Scottish Government is looking for a new Chair of the Board of Trustees of the National Library of Scotland.
NLS is one of the world’s leading research libraries and one of Scotland’s premier cultural institutions. Board members are responsible for the overall vision and strategy and for ensuring public accountability.
The current Chair, Professor Michael Anderson, is retiring after 12 years leading the Library's Board.
The new appointee will formally take over as the Chair of the Board from October 2012, and will:
- Lead and inspire the organisation
- Guide its strategic decision-making
- Represent NLS in the public arena
- Help develop the Library's dynamic potential.
Sunday 10 June was the closing date for applications, and interviews will be held in Edinburgh on 12 July.
