2008 Disability Equality Duty Action Plan

The 2008 Disability Equality Duty Action Plan sets out our aims for improving access for disabled people visiting our buildings.

Introduce new evacuation procedures, permitting members of the public with mobility impairments to access the General and Special Reading Rooms at George IV Bridge. Director of Customer Services/Head of Reference Services. April 2008.
Introduce new evacuation procedures, permitting staff to use all levels of Causewayside Building. Director of Corporate Services. April 2009.
Develop awareness training for customer-facing staff. Director of Customer Services/Access Manager/Front of House Manager. Summer 2008.
Create user group for customers with declared disabilities to influence ongoing development of buildings and services. Director of Customer Services/Access Manager. Summer 2008.
