Agency for the Legal Deposit Libraries
The Agency for the Legal Deposit Libraries (ALDL) acts on behalf of five of the legal deposit libraries:
- National Library of Scotland (NLS)
- Bodleian Library, Oxford
- Cambridge University Library
- Trinity College, Dublin
- National Library of Wales
The ALDL, which was previously based in Euston Street in London, moved to Edinburgh and opened there on 2 March 2009. It is based in the NLS Causewayside Building, but is registered as a company limited by guarantee, which is wholly owned by NLS. Its directors represent all the legal deposit libraries listed above.

Publishers should send their publications to the Agency for the Legal Deposit Libraries.
Those publishers who currently send single copies of their titles direct to the National Library of Scotland may continue to do so at present. In addition, the National Library sometimes requests material direct from publishers.
