NEWSPLAN Scotland surveys
In 2002 and 2004, NEWSPLAN Scotland carried out a survey among newspaper users in libraries across Scotland. The survey focused on the use of historical newspapers on microfilm, and was instructed as part of the national NEWSPLAN survey.
The results of the national survey provide valuable information for the planning of future preservation resources for newspapers.
The 2002 survey
The first NEWSPLAN survey was carried out from 29 April to 17 May 2002. The results are available here in pdf format.
