Bibliography of Scottish Literature in Translation
- Special notice: New version of BOSLIT search coming soon
BOSLIT is an online, freely searchable catalogue of translations of Scottish literary texts from 1500 to the present day.
Scholars and students of Scottish literature will use BOSLIT to:
- Trace the international impact of Scottish writers and their works
- Match sources and translations in order to gauge how texts have been adapted across languages and cultures
- Gain access to an index of the international popularity and importance of Scottish writers and their works over time.
While BOSLIT currently contains a broad sample of translations into over 70 languages, its holdings are still incomplete. Researchers can therefore use the BOSLIT records as a departure for further study of the international reception of Scottish literary works, and they are warmly invited to make the fruits of their research available to the ongoing expansion of the catalogue.
