This 16th-century work is one of a number of manuscripts owned by the Beaton family of hereditary physicians.

The treatise on atronomy is illustrated with drawings of the signs of the Zodiac. It is part of a volume of short works on medicine and associated sciences presented to the Advocates Library around 1784.
