Notes This is the first edition of one of Annie S. Swan's most popular Scottish tales, only three other copies are recorded in major UK libraries. Swan (1859-1943) was a prolific author of novels which never earned critical acclaim but were popular successes. Thomas Dryburgh's dream was one of her early works of fiction which drew on her personal experience as the wife of a medical student in Edinburgh.
