On this page, we keep you up-to-date with new developments in the Science Information Service and new additions to the National Library of Scotland's Scientific and Technology Collections.
We have added our first e-books to the science collections. Customers registered to use our licenced digital collections can read online the full text of selected books held in the Library without having to come to the building! We plan to build up these resources over the coming years.
Some highlights include:
- The 'Complete dictionary of scientific biography'
- The whole of the 18-volume original 'Dictionary of scientific biography', published between 1970 and 1989
- The eight-volume additional 'New dictionary of scientific biography'.

Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers — ALPSP journals
We have access to the ALPSP collection — a full-text journal database containing over 700 titles from the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers, representing a number of smaller publishers. This collection also covers subjects in the humanities and social sciences.
Some science publishers covered include Brill, Hindawi Press and IOS press, with titles such as 'Aquatic Living Resources', 'Cancer Biomarkers' and 'Wind Engineering'.
