Hansel and Gretel competitions

Get behind the fairy tale

The winners have been announced for writing competitions centered around 'Hansel and Gretel', which ran between September and November 2012.

We have published the winner's name and the 12 shortlisted stories in the adults' competition, and the names of the winners in the schools competition.

Ideas from the stories will help inspire development of a new 'Hansel and Gretel' production by Scottish Ballet, to be premiered later this year.

The competitions were a collaborative venture between Scotland's national ballet company and the National Library of Scotland.
