Reader access to the complete range of titles in the world's largest scientific, technical and medical database will be maintained this year as a result of an agreement between the National Library of Scotland and international publisher Elsevier.
The database, 'ScienceDirect', makes full-text articles available online for many of its 1,800 titles, covering all scientific disciplines and some social science and humanities subjects. Originally, access to all titles was to be for 2003 only, with a selected number retained on subscription from this year onwards.
Registered readers can now continue to use 'ScienceDirect' via the Electronic Resources Network in our George IV Bridge Building.
