A staff record from Sir Sean Connery's pre-film-star days as a milkman goes on display next month at the National Library of Scotland.
The record slip, started in 1944, was discovered among the archive of the Scotmid co-operative society, some of which is held on deposit at the Library. It will be featured in a new NLS exhibition in celebration of shopping which opens on 8 December.
'Sale of the centuries' provides a glimpse of our changing relationship with shops and shopping over more than 300 years. Other exhibits from NLS collections include diaries, shopping bills, catalogues, advertisements and town plans. See our press release for more details.
