Glasgow's Citizens' Theatre is displaying a small selection of reproductions of National Library material during its Christmas run of Peter Pan.

Children's fan letters to 'Wendy' and cards from the first Peter Pan card game will be on show. Alongside them are large-format cards telling the story of 'the boy who never grew up'. These are possibly by Flora White, who illustrated Peter Pan's ABC, published around 1914.

Other manuscript items include a letter by Peter Pan's creator, J M Barrie. In it the Kirriemuir-born author reports that the first production of the play, which opened in December 1904, was 'a huge success'.

At the National Library of Scotland we have over 200 editions of the Peter Pan stories in various formats and several languages.

Peter Pan plays at the Citizens' Theatre from 1 December until 5 January.
