Manuscripts temporary transfer affects reader services

Some of the manuscripts at the National Library of Scotland will have a temporary new home from August for around eight months. We are transferring part of our manuscript collections out of the George IV Bridge Building while we upgrade visitor facilities.

All items which are in temporary storage will be available to readers as usual. Delivery will take longer, however, and some items will be temporarily unavailable while in transit. We recommend that readers contact us in advance to check on availability and to preorder manuscript material.
