Online support for start-up companies

Business users of the National Library of Scotland now have free access to a new information database. And they don't have to be on our premises to consult it.

The 'Complete Reference Business Advisor' (COBRA) database is described as an 'essential tool for starting or running a business'. It provides a wealth of information for small businesses as well as those thinking of starting. Included are over 4,000 factsheets giving guidance on specific types of businesses, market research, guides to grants - and much more.

COBRA is available to anyone with an NLS reader's ticket who is based in Scotland. They can access it in our General Reading Room or online from their home or work.

Also free to registered Library users is 'Frost & Sullivan', a global market research database we recently added to our collections. For other similar business resources, see our list of licensed digital collections.
