Dundee to host NLS roadshow

Dundee Central Library is the venue for a National Library of Scotland roadshow from 25-27 November.

Specialist NLS staff will be on hand to answer questions and help Dundee residents register for an NLS library card.

On display will be items from our collections relating to Dundee and to family history. Visitors will be able to buy NLS merchandise, including facsimiles of manuscript and map material. They can also see 'Wish you were here', our travelling exhibition about visitors to Scotland from 1675-1935 based on travellers' journals.

Three talks take place in the library's Steps Theatre on Thursday 26 November:

  • 11.00-12.00: 'Mapping Dundee from the earliest times to the present day'
  • 13.00-14.00: 'Scotbis - Delivering a national business information service for Scotland'
  • 15.00-16.00: 'Family history resources and service at the National Library'.

Local schools will be taking part in our 'Scottish History Detective' workshops during the roadshow's run.

Opening hours for the roadshow are:

  • Wednesday 25 November: 10.00-18.00
  • Thursday 26 November: 09.30-20.00
  • Friday 27 November: 09.30-18.00
