Special and Named Printed Collections


A collection of c. 1840 printed items taken from the Dorothy Dunnett papers held in the National Library of Scotland's Archive & Manuscript Collections. Dorothy Dunnett OBE (1923-2001) was a Scottish novelist, who wrote several historical novels from the 1960s onwards. Covering the years 1940 to 2001, the collection includes theatre programmes, theatre tickets, birthday cards and personal invitations to various formal and informal functions. Many items are in connection with the Edinburgh International Festival, the arts and the intellectual and social life of Edinburgh. There are also 48 strips of photographic negatives included in the collection.
