'Losing Venice', 'Elizabeth Gordon Quinn' and 'White Rose' are a few of the important productions staged at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh in one key season, in 1985.
A panel of experts at the National Library of Scotland discussed the Traverse, its history and its playwrights. They also considered the influence that that powerful 1985 season continues to have on theatre in Scotland and beyond.
The panel consisted of:
- Peter Arnott, playwright
- Dominic Hill, Artistic Director of the Traverse Theatre
- Joyce McMillan, journalist
- David Harrower, playwright
- Chris Hannan, playwright.
Chairing the event was Adrienne Scullion, James Arnott Chair of Drama, Glasgow University.
