Sanskrit astrological scroll (early 19th century). [Library reference: Adv.MS.81.1.6]
This Sanskrit scroll of astrological computations with diagrams and mythological figures was made for a 'gentleman born in 1788'.
Ganesh is shown riding a peacock. Ganesh, of course, is the god who removes obstructions, so it is not unusual to find him on what is essentially a horoscope.
The item features in the 'Images of India' display at the Library from 6 July to 20 August 2017.
