For the first time on the National Library of Scotland's website, we're offering the general public the chance to determine what will go into a forthcoming online feature.
The Scottish Science Hall of Fame will highlight 10 scientists from the past whose achievements have shaped our lives today - and we want users of this website to decide who the 10 will be.
Anyone can vote, and to get the ball rolling we've selected 24 scientists or engineers we think merit consideration. Voters are free also to nominate any scientist who's not on the list - but not one who's still living. Among those on our list you'll find:
- John Logie Baird
- Alexander Graham Bell
- Alexander Fleming
- James Clerk Maxwell
Although not aimed exclusively at schools, the Scottish Science Hall of Fame will interest pupils studying science subjects in S1 and S2.
