The National Library of Scotland has won a Standard of Excellence WebAward in the Web Marketing Association's 2008 competition.
Our Scottish Screen Archive site came third in the General Interest category. The judges awarded the site the Design Standard of Excellence, based on overall excellence and quality. Criteria included design, content, writing, ease of use, and technology.
We launched the redesigned archive site earlier this year and made 1,000 film clips available online. Since then it has been enjoyed by thousands of visitors.
This WMA WebAward is the third for NLS. In 2006 our main website was judged Best Government Website and in 2007 we received a Standard of Excellence award in the same category. This year's competition attracted a total of 2,400 entries from 45 countries.
