Seven poetry pamphlets are on the shortlist for the 2009 Callum Macdonald Memorial Award.
The annual competition for poetry pamphlet publishing in Scotland attracted 38 entries. They have been described by one of the award judges as 'producing creative ways of dealing with the lighter and darker side of life.'
Included this year are a set of translations from German into Scots, a Chinese-inspired collection, and a pamphlet of Scots rhymes for children. All entries are added to the National Library of Scotland's modern poetry pamphlet collection, which contains around 300 items.
