A new Chair is being sought to guide the National Library of Scotland through the next stage of its development.
From October 2012, the new appointee will lead a Board of Trustees responsible for the overall vision and strategy at NLS and for ensuring public accountability.
Professor Michael Anderson, the current Chair, is retiring after 12 years. During his tenure he has played a key role in the developing the Library, one of Scotland's premier cultural organisations.
The functions and governance of NLS are being modernised through a Bill which the Scottish Parliament has just approved. This will support NLS in widening access to its world-class collections.
Sunday 10 June is the closing date for applications, and interviews will be held in Edinburgh on 12 July. Read more about this appointment.
