The latest DVD in a series that helps people with dementia has been released by the National Library of Scotland.
Using film clips from the Scottish Screen Archive, 'The journey of life' celebrates key moments in everyday life in 20th-century Scotland.
As the previous three DVDs in the series have shown, such films revive memories of childhood, school, jobs, friends and holidays. They stimulate laughter and conversation, and can help improve self-esteem and morale.
NLS is giving away 1,000 free copies of the DVD to support family carers and staff in residential homes as they engage with people with dementia. The Library is working with the Dementia Services Development Centre at the University of Stirling to make the DVD available.
Copies are also available to buy direct from the Scottish Screen Archive, priced £15.
