Dennis the Menace and Gnasher.
For one day only, on Saturday 28 July, fans of D C Thomson's famous 'Beano' comic can enjoy a rare treat.
A drop-in pop-up display at the National Library of Scotland at Kelvin Hall will reveal highlights from the Library's 'Beano' collection.
On show will be the first 'Beano' ever published — from July 1938 — and the 1952 issue that introduced Dennis the Menace, the comic's most famous character, to the front cover.
As part of the celebrations of the comic's 80th birthday, visitors will also see original artwork from D C Thomson's archives.
Activities for children of all ages include themed football sessions in Kelvin Hall's sports centre, a prank workshop, an animation workshop — and a 'whoopee' noise listening post.
The 'Beano' pop-up display is free and open from 10.00-16.00.
