The 2021 Scots Scriever residency, hosted by the National Library of Scotland, is open for applications.
In partnership with Orkney Library & Archive, the Library is offering a 12-month creative, freelance residency based in Orkney. The National Lottery is funding the role through Creative Scotland.
The Scriever will celebrate the Scots language and Orcadian dialect by creating exciting original written works in Orcadian, and will work closely with local communities both virtually and through public events. Extensive collections in Scots in the two libraries will provide rich research opportunities for the postholder.
Applicants may work in any creative discipline for written work, including drama, non-fiction, poetry or songwriting.
Applications are due Monday 24 May. Details are on the Engage recruitment website.
