Stunning original bookbindings feature in a new display at the National Library's George IV Bridge building.
The Elizabeth Soutar Bookbinding Competition 2022 display showcases the competition's 14 entries, including the winning bindings. Entrants created bindings of works by or about Scots in response to this year's theme, 'Scotland's Stories'.
This year, the judges have assigned three prizes, which will be awarded at an online ceremony on 9 June:
- Best Craft Binding (Overall): Miguel Perez Fernandez, Spain
- Best Creative Binding (Overall): Toben Lewis, United Kingdom
- Best Creative Binding (Student): Débora Fresno Rodríguez, Spain
Bindings by Gillian Stewart (United Kingdom) and Claudia Richter (Germany) will also be highly commended.
