
The plan of the Battle of Culloden.
This plan depicts the strengths and positions of the Jacobite and Hanoverian forces at the Battle of Culloden in 1746. It was hand drawn by a French officer present at the battle.
During the 17th and 18th centuries, Jacobites, named after King James VII and II, fought to restore his descendants to the Scottish, English and Irish thrones. The rebellion led by Bonnie Prince Charlie culminated in the defeat of the Jacobites at the Battle of Culloden.
