Join Mairi Kidd to discover stories of Scotland's Renaissance 'witches', in conversation with Zoe Venditozzi.
The Witchcraft Act of 1563 sparked a century and a half of witch-hunting in Scotland, leading to the deaths of approximately 2,500 people.
The history of these persecutions often overlooks the fascinating diversity of witchcraft and magical beliefs in Scotland, especially in Gaeldom, and rarely considers the individual, family, and community contexts of those affected.
Discover the stories of Euphame Maccalzean, Gormal of Lochaber, and many more of Scotland's 'witches'.
