To celebrate the launch of BFI Replay in Dundee libraries, join us for this unique, free event exploring the archives and collaborative work of the British Film Institute (BFI) and National Library of Scotland, including a special screening of Stella Rooney's film 'She Town'.
BFI Replay is a free-to-access, digital archive uncovering stories from across the UK, its history and its people and is available exclusively in UK public libraries.
Join us to hear archival insights from Nicky Williams of the British Film Institute and Ann Cameron from the National Library of Scotland and watch curated highlights from BFI Replay itself.
In addition, this event includes a special screening of the short film 'She Town', directed by Stella Rooney. This screening will be introduced by the film-maker Stella, in person. It was influenced by the women of Dundee and their role in shaping the city's industry, 'She Town' explores the rise of the matriarchal city and the legacy of the working-class women within. 'She Town', was exhibited at The Royal Scottish Academy's New Contemporaries 2022 and was awarded the first National Library of Scotland purchase prize for moving image.
