Overview

Visit the Maps Reading Room at our Causewayside building to view millions of items from the map collection.

The collection includes printed and manuscript maps, atlases, gazetteers, and cartographic reference books. You can also access thousands of full-text online research resources and abstracts, which are only available onsite.

You can also view some outsize items at the Maps Reading Room, for example, posters and larger rare books.

Book your visit

Visits to our Maps Reading Room are by appointment only. You'll need to join the Library (it's free!) before you can book.

You can also arrange group visits to the Maps Reading Room for up to 14 people, or more by special request. Contact us and let us know the details of the group, their interests, and any preferred dates or times for the visit.
