Magic lantern slides showing several illustrations and a zoetrope.

Kelvin Hall is hosting two adult Autism-friendly sessions exploring early cinema:

  • 2pm to 3:30pm

  • 5:30pm to 7pm

During these sessions you'll be able to discover Glasgow Museum objects relating to the history of film and cinema. You will have the opportunity to handle objects and hear the stories behind them.

You'll also be able to see some early silent films from the National Library of Scotland's Moving Image Archive and there will be some cinema-themed crafts to take part in.

The sessions are free and will be run on a drop-in basis but you can also book to secure your place.

Kelvin Hall has a dedicated quiet room that can be used by those needing a calm space. It is located on the ground floor beside the Sports Hall. Please ask staff for directions.

Please pass this onto any adults you think might be interested in this event.

We have created visual storyboards, which help you see around our museum before your visit. See the Kelvin Hall Visual Storyboard
