An opportunity to meet some of Scotland's contemporary children's authors in these fun, free story sessions for families. Each session will include two short readings suitable for children aged 6 to 10 years and a chance to chat to the writers, plus a range of craft activities. The writers will also share books that have inspired them on their creative journeys.

The sessions take place in the Dear Library exhibition space, where families can explore displays about the power of books and the value of libraries across the country.

Dates and ticketing

This event is repeated three days in a row at the same time (11am to 11:45am):

  • Tuesday 14 April

  • Wednesday 15 April

  • Thursday 16 April

Spaces are limited. You can book tickets for each session in advance, with a small number of tickets available on the day. Younger and older siblings and family members are welcome to join, but the readings will be most suitable for primary aged school children.
