Storytellers Franziska Droll and Donald Smith share fairy tales of Scottish and German origin. They highlight the continuing importance of the form, and the richness of local versions.

The event will be in English and Scots with some running commentary on language. Recommended for adults and older children (aged 12 plus).

This event is part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival.

About the storytellers

Fanziska Droll grew up in Germany's Black Forest, immersed in the tales of the Brothers Grimm. Now a professional storyteller and graduate of the Scottish Storytelling Apprenticeship, Franziska shares tales that connect people across cultures and generations.

Donald Smith has been an active student of Scots and Irish storytelling for over forty years. He tells mainly Scottish and Irish folk tales. Donald is a founding member of the Scottish Storytelling Forum and is currently Director of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival.
