The making of a national collection

This immersive event offers a rare opportunity to experience the historic and ongoing connections between the National Library of Scotland and the Faculty of Advocates Library, celebrating a key centenary moment.
In October 1925 the Faculty of Advocates gifted its non-legal library collections to the nation, forming the nucleus of the national collections.
Begin your journey with curators at the National Library, exploring unique materials which document the creation of the new Library and the transfer of the Advocates' gifted holdings. Then step through the 'secret' connecting door into the Advocates Library for an exclusive guided tour of Scotland's premier law library, normally closed to the public, from its specialist librarians.
