A watercolour painting of two sail boats on the coast of Glenelg in 1772 by Moses Griffith.

Join us to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Scottish traveller Thomas Pennant. Hear from researchers Dr Alex Deans and Professor Nigel Leask, who will explore Pennant's two famous journeys: his 1769 natural history tour and his ambitious 1772 voyage to the Hebrides.

The talks will be illustrated with early images of Scotland, including rarely-seen watercolours by the artist Moses Griffith.

The event will be chaired by Prof Mary-Ann Constantine and include an audience Q&A.
