Did you know that reading for six minutes – in any capacity – can reduce stress?

Let's have a Wee Read! Join us to hear six minutes of a book, read by Library staff members in our Rain exhibition. Drop-in for your Wee Read and hear a bit of a story together.

Timings

Readings will be every hour. The first reading is at 10:30am and the final one is at 4:30pm. Each reading will last between six and 10 minutes.

About Wee Read

Wee Read is Scotland's national celebration of reading - a simple invitation for everyone to stop, take a few minutes, and enjoy the pleasure of reading.

Whether it's a novel, comic, magazine, newspaper, audiobook, poem, or recipe, every kind of reading counts. On 7 October 2026, people across Scotland will come together for one shared moment to celebrate the joy of reading and the positive difference it can make to our wellbeing, learning and everyday lives.
