Kulgin Duval and Colin Hamilton at their home in Frenich, Perthshire.
Kulgin Duval and Colin Hamilton were partners in work and in life.
From an early beginning dealing in rare books and literary manuscripts, their partnership became the centre-point of many remarkable literary and creative friendships.
Books were their passion as well as their business, and a love of fine editions led to a long and distinguished career as fine publishers under their own imprint.
They became major patrons of the very best British bookbinders and designers.
the Galapagos Islands, 2007/2008.
Creative and cultural warmth existed at the heart of Kulgin and Colin's work and in the welcome offered to guests to their two homes in Scotland and in India.
Their connections and friendships extended across disciplines, generations and continents.
The partnership lasted until 2016, when Kulgin died. By then they had built a truly remarkable collection and archive, which in time will be bequeathed to the National Library of Scotland and the National Galleries of Scotland.
