Winning films announced
Young people across the country submitted an eclectic range of films to the one-minute competition 'What Scotland means to me'.
Run by the National Library of Scotland in conjunction with the Scottish Youth Film Festival, the competition called for films made by young people in the Year of Young People 2018.
The winning films were announced in November 2018:
- '12 and under' age group: 'From Dancing Dundee'
- '13 and over' age group: 'St Thomas Aquinas Acrostic Account'.
'Amazing storytelling'
Scottish actor Kevin Guthrie, who was on the judging panel, said: 'I was really blown away by the standard and quality of film production on these submissions.
'The shortlisted films are stunning, with some amazing storytelling. Well done to everyone involved.'
Staff at the Library's Moving Image Archive were amazed and entertained by the films that were submitted.
They would like to thank all of the children and young people who took the time to capture creative stories and send in their films.
The winning films and shortlisted selection will be preserved in the Moving Image Archive to become a part of Scotland's stories for future generations.
