Library Social: Tactile and sensory books
Every second Friday of each month.
Explore tactile and sensory books in this hands-on workshop. Handle them and learn about their history with visiting facilitator Lily Stone who will be our guide.
Lily has just completed a PhD (funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council) which focused on tactile picture books for children with vision impairments.
Library Social is a series of relaxed events inspired by themes and items from the Library's collection. Sessions may include music, crafts or storytelling depending on the theme. Refreshments are provided.
These sessions are for people living with dementia and their families, carers and supporters. Please contact Learning & Outreach Officer, Beverley Casebow, at learning@nls.uk to reserve a place or for more information.
