This display tells the story of how the humble paperback revolutionised and democratised access to books, from the launch of Penguin in 1935 to the present day.

Featured are the first ten Penguin titles, the first complete UK edition of 'Lady Chatterley's Lover' from 1960, and a selection of paperback bestsellers from across the decades.

Come and see how paperbacks changed books from being a niche product for a few to mass-market products both reflecting and shaping British society.

Entry to the exhibition is free and suitable for all ages.
