The National Library of Scotland Foundation (the Foundation) was formed in 2013. Its objectives are to advance the charitable purposes of the National Library of Scotland to include the advancement of arts, heritage and culture and the advancement of education and research by making grants and providing financial support for projects and activities being carried out by or supported by the National Library of Scotland.
The Foundation is managed by a Board of Trustees which meets four times a year. The Trustees are:

- Karl Magee.
